1. put something off - to delay doing something

    (국문 설명) ~을 미루다, 연기하다

    → (예문)  Don't put your homework off until tomorrow morning.

 

2. throw something out the window - to give up something

    (국문 설명) ~을 포기하다

    → (예문) Three employees got sick, so the manager had to throw the current schedule out the window.

 

3. off the beaten path - remote; not often visited

    (국문 설명) 인적이 드문 곳에

    → (예문) The cabin was off the beaten path, deep in the forest.

1. 나는 몇 달 동안 헬스장에 가는 것을 계속 미뤄 왔다. (put something off)

Correction: I have been putting off going to the gym for months.

 

2. 티나는 임신을 했을 때, 프로 댄서가 되겠다는 꿈을 포기했다. (throw something out the window)

쫑쫑의 영작: When Tina got pregnent, she threw her dream of a pro dancer out the window.

Correction: When Tina got pregnant, she threw her dream of being a professional dancer out the window.

 

3. 그 어촌은 인적이 드문 곳이어서 관광객들의 발길이 뜸했다. (off the beaten path)

쫑쫑의 영작: Because the seashore village was off the beaten path,  there were a few visitors.

Correction: The fishing village was off the beaten path and seldom visited by tourists.
