Power expressions and Examples
1. go pro - to become a professional at something
(국문 설명) 프로가 되다
→ (예문) I've been playing pocer for so long that I think it's time to go pro.
2. never cease to amaze someone - to continue to impress someone
(국문 설명) ~를 항상 감탄하게 만든다
→ (예문) Bob never ceases to amaze me. Did you hear he's climbing Mount Everest this spring?
cease 미국식 [siːs] 영국식 중요[동사][격식] 중단되다, 그치다; 중단시키다 (→cessation)
cessation (cease) 미국∙영국 [seˈseɪʃn] 미국식 [seˈseɪʃn] 영국식 [명사][격식] 중단, 중지
wonders will never cease놀랄 일이 끝이 없군[놀라운 일의 연속이군](어떤 일에 기분 좋게 놀랐을 때 하는 말)
3. take someone up on something - to accept an offer someone has made
(국문 설명) 제안을 받아들이다
→ (예문) I'd like to take you up on your offer for me to stay for a few days.

Correction: Your paintings are amazing! Have you ever thought about going pro?
2. 내 딸은 나를 항상 놀라게 해요. 그 애는 좀 전에 자기 회사의 사장으로 임명되었어요! (never cease to amaze someone)
쫑쫑의 영작: My daughter never cease to amaze me all the time. She was announced as the president of her company right before.
Correction: My daughter never cease to amaze me. She was just named president of her company! (쫑쫑: never가 있어서 all the time을 쓰면 안 되겠네요.)
3. 저는 당신의 그 일자리 제안을 받아들일 것 같아요. (take someone up on something)
쫑쫑의 영작: I guess I will take you up on the job offer.
Correction: I think I'll take you up on that job offer.
