Power expressions and Examples

 

1. get into something - to access something, usually without permission

    (~에 들어가다/닿다, 도달하다)

    → (예문)  The squirrels somehow got into the bird feeder.

 

2. out of reach - located in a place that can't easily be accessed or touched

    (손이 닿지 않는)

    → (예문) Can you help me get that box? It's just out of reach for me.

 

3. turn into something - to change into something; to become something

    (~으로 변하다/되다)

    → (예문) I usually get a mild sunburn that turns into a tan after a few days.

<Power practice>

 

1. 해커는 군사 데이터베이스에 접속했다. (get into something)

쫑쫑의 영작: The hacker got into the militery database.

Correction: The hacker got into the military database.

 

2. 빌리는 나무에 오르고 싶었지만, 가장 낮은 가지에 손이 닿지 않았다. (out of reach)

쫑쫑의 영작: Billy wanted to go up the tree, but it's lowest branch was out of reach for him.

Correction: Billy wanted to climb the tree, but the lowest branch was just out of reach.

 

3. 유리의 작은 흠집이 큰 균열로 변했다. (turn into something)

쫑쫑의 영작: A small dent on the glass turned into a big crack.

Correction: The small scratch on the glass turned into a giant crack.
